Winter in Fredonia got a whole lot sweeter this past January when Festivals Fredonia hosted it’s inaugural Evening of Ice Wine – and we’re already counting down to next year. Guests chose their vibe: a lively, relaxed evening at Coughlin’s Pub or a sophisticated, jazz-filled sit-down experience at the historic White Inn. Either way, the night deliverd something truly special. Three celebrated Lake Erie region wineries – Mazza Wines, Johnson Estate Winery, and 21 Brix Winery – poured an outstanding selection of wines, each paired with dishes from talented local chefs capped off with a gorgeous dessert course paired with ice wine. Made from grapes frozen naturally on the vine, ice wine is one of the rarest and most extraordinary wines in the world – and the Lake Erie region has been producing it since 1984. An ice sculptor added the perfect finishing touch to a night that was festive, delicious, and completely one-of-a-kind. The Evening of Ice Wine is now an annual Festivals Fredonia tradition. We hope to see you there!
